fill hardware holes on drawers

i have encountered a problem with changing out the hardware on a has a bow front,so i cannot use is a blonde piece which i plan to darken slightly,glaze and it possible to do this after (properly) filling in the holes and not see an obvious sign of the previous hardware holes?

No, it will show. You can bend the thinner kinds of backplates somewhat. Can you post a photo of the dresser and old hardware? What is the current hole spacing? Are you changing the hardware style or would you be open to having it replated?

Hi there, I am not a pro, but I just completed refinishing two antique dressers with the bow (serpentine) front. If you are considering buying other hardware, I bought brass drawer bail pulls. There is a curve in the bail which allows the handles to hang correctly on serpentine drawers. They are really the only style of pulls that work. I found these at Kennedy

You could refinish the existing hardware and that could solve your problem easily.

Monique has a good idea. If you could get a thick piece of styrofoam, attach the screws to the hardware and then push them into the styrofoam. A $5.00 can of spray paint is a whole lot cheaper than replacing all the hardware!
