Need to decide what light fixture to buy for foyer ???
Hi everyone!

I need to buy a light fixture for the place above the stairs . It is basically the same ceiling as my little hallway. I have a flush mount light there already, so my question is :should I buy the same style light in semi-flush or pendant or go with a different look and style which may match the banisters on stair way
attached are 1)& 2) the place I am talking about 3)same light fixture as my hallway in semi flush or 4)pendent
Thank you

olldbobbi How about a different option? [houzz=

the essentials inside Hi Fabiola! I'm going to photoshop in some ideas for you. Just a couple of questions:

Do you want/need to keep the flush mount you currently have or are you open to suggestions for both?

Are there stairs going down too or is that just a little alcove (below where you want the new light)?

the essentials inside Have a couple -- still working on more but wanted to upload what I have. The first 2 are your fixtures. The 3rd is one we sell which may or may not be out of your price range ($481.40). I'll do a few more from the price points we carry and also some at a lower price point from other stores. Don't want to be too nosy about your budget.

I'll be back! :)

Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design Fabiola, I would like to see you change your light fixtures to something simple. Now, if you are really longing for somthing tradtional, please speak up! Otherwise, I'll try to get you into the 21st Century, while still having at least a part of your foot in the last century. The first fixture is for your upstairs area, and the second is to hang over the stairs. Let me know what you think, please. Click on photos to see the whole thing please.

finds2flip4 Do you see this area everyday , is it a main entrance, I think you need to spice it up a bit, to contrast with your traditional style I would like you to choose a modern drum pendant light or a cylinder shaped or modern Eames type lamp, Ikea has some really nice one that are cheaper, or look for more quality options on line. Would choose materials to contrast with what you have, you have a lot of wood , metal, so choose fabric or glass or even plastic something that has texture different than what you have. Have attached some IKEA images for starters, good luck.

the essentials inside Hello again!

I've tried dozens of types/styles - flush, semi-flush, chandelier etc. The style I like the best is the ball shaped lantern. The style I like 2nd is the full sized pendant light.

I've attached the pics. If you like either of the styles, do you want to shop around for some that you like that are in your price range and then I'll photoshop those in for you to see? Just for your reference - the lights in the pics are about $900 (ball style) and $300 (pendant). If you are looking in a lower price range, wayfair.com has a lot - you could surf there.

Just let me know - I'll be happy to do! Are you on pinterest? If so, you can create a board there and I can pull pictures from it. If not, you should join. It is really fun. You can follow us here: http://pinterest.com/eilbp/

ATGStores.com Hi, Fabiola! We realize we're a little late to the party, but thought we'd offer some ideas as well. We took a look through our selection of 2,800 transitional large pendants (http://www.atgstores.com/transitional-large-pendants_442_s15.html?page=1) and pulled a few images for you, although we try to make it easy to browse by style, finish, size, cost, shade color and other filters. We hope this helps gives you some ideas and wish you luck if you haven't found something already!
