The old is sold now deciding on the new... please help

What is the rule of thumb for table size and to determine if there is room for a china cabinet? My dining/living room is one open area, please note the curtains, little desk and paint color are going away. One dining set I am looking at (I don't know how to post photos of them) is the Thomasville spellbound set either oval table or double pedestal. Debating on oval chair backs or hardwood. Also... any suggestions for set up, light, wall color, etc? Still going back and forth, I do have someone from the store coming out tomorrow. Thanks for all previous help.

to determine table size you have to consider placement of your chandelier. chandelier has to be in center of table, now imagine how far you can go from each side from that point, consider that you need space for chair when it is fully pulled out. from looking at pictures I do not think you have space for china cabinet. maybe you can have low height side board instead of desk where you can keep your china.
