Does anyone know what kind of window treatment this is called?

It most likely is custom made. I searched "pleated cornice box" and nothing really came up. Any suggestions? sorry the photo came out sideways I tried posting this 10 times and no matter what I did, it came out sideways. Sorry.

I am sure that it could be described using several terms but I'm thinking its a mock roman valance, or a folded valance.

i'm glad you told us the pic is sideways because I thought at first they were drapes. I think it could be one of three things - a Roman shade that still has the mfg banding on it or a custom window covering to spec, or something else, gone wrong. Where did you see this? It's certainly interesting.

Here is something similar that I have in one of my ideabooks as I love the simplicity of the shades. Based on one of the questions attached to this photo it is some type of faux roman shade and is custom.

Mayflower claims that the storage unit did not fail.

I guess there was a rainstorm INSIDE the container.

No.

I asked for Mayflower to send someone out to inspect,, but I was told it was unnecessary.

Now, I am told that the insurers want it inspected.

I did take pictures.
Here is one

I suspect the facility flooded [not unusual in the Tampa Bay area].

Ok, that's not good. If you look at the bottom of the plywood, there's no moisture showing there. It's almost like someone threw a bucket of water on it or something.

There was a box with a printer inside, a box with books, and a box with odds and ends.
And of course 1 out of 14 rugs [the largest by far].

The floor is 4' x 12's and there is a gap between two sections where they joins the wall on one side.

Totally weird.

Home Diva,

I apologize for hijacking your discussion.

You have been such a good sport!

Where did you find the Roman shade valence?

No problem!! They have to be custom made and I may just buy a cornice box kit and do something a little different. Not ready to spend that kind of money. Here is a pic of the one I really wanted for my mudroom.

Aja: I never found one, I snapped these in a model home. Olldbob - No, it isn't a kit, I would have to have it made by a custom window treatment shop.. But, if you google "cornice box kit" or watch the video on youtube, you would see what that looks like. I guess with some creativity I could create a similar look. I just don't sew and am not crafty.

If I buy a kit, I am sure I will need someone else to do it for me. I would be good picking out the fabric, that would be it...lol..

It would require no sewing just a good adhesive.
I highly recommend Beacon's Fabritac.

Have you picked out fabric?

I'm looking at this window treatment again, and it looks stationary, no? Can't be lowered? So what would be the difference between this, and 3 long bolster pillows secured with a very wide ribbon?

haha!

My first thought had been bolster pillows.

Home Diva had only a very bad example from a model home to post.
The movable Roman shade is separate from the stationary cornice.

Or a bandage for a wounded window:

Hold valence tightly to window until bleeding stops!

Aja - so glad you feel as I did with that discussion, when it got to styling one shelf at a time I decided to go watch the grass grow. Honestly when do you just live in your home and relax, that room was going to be decorated to within an inch of it's life.

Your picture is of a hobbled valance and yours happens to have banding. The same style is more commonly made as a roman shade without the banding.
