Front door security
November 30, 2012 in Design Dilemma
I have a front entrance consisting of cedar double doors (each 2 ft wide) opening inwards into the living room. The door will have a deadbolt as well as a keyed entry lock. The passive door has a good flush mount bolt. The active door will have a surface bolt on top (on the inside of the door).I can leave the house through a more secure door locking the front door from the inside. I have been told that such a front door can still be kicked in, so I would like advice on any other method of securing this door, please. Thanks

We have been told by law enforcement that about any door can be kicked in by an experienced thief. I am interested to see what others say.
