I currently have a glass table top with a wooden bottom. I hate the glass and would like to reinvent it or replace it, but am not finding any online for purchase that are not glass or wood. I am leaning towards a ceramic or mosaic look. Suggestions!?!?
olldbobbi What do you hate about it? If you took it to a paint shop and had them spray the underside with a color (after detaching it from the base, of course) you would have a new and completely different look. Just to give you an idea, it could look like the glass wall in this shower: [houzz=
lrshelton I primarily hate the fingerprints and dust that show up on it so easily. I feel like I constantly cleaning it! We have a little one on the way and I know it's only going to get worse! Is there a way I can paint it myself??
olldbobbi You could try rolling the paint on, but you're still going to see marks. Are you really good with a spray can? Do you have a grafitti artist in your neighborhood, they're good with spray cans.
I have a dark wood dining table and it shows dust and fingerprints, too. I don't know away around it.
michigammemom Glass table tops are beautiful but hard to keep clean. I use Sprayway foam glass cleaner available at Target. The stuff smells terrible, but it is the only streak-free cleaner I have found.
creeser You could have a piece of granite cut for the top. That's what a friend of our's did. Or you could go with a mosaic but making a wooden top to cover the glass and doing a mosaic on that.
