Need help incorporating art work into my decor.
December 4, 2012 in Design Dilemma
My husband bought a very large silk art of Klimt's The Kiss. I'm redoing my house and my colors are black, white and gray everywhere. (Different shades of true grays on the kitchen, dining, family room, living room walls- white leather couch and slate gray couch, black dining room table, white kitchen table - you get the idea). This is going in an extra den off the living room (that has the white leather couch) and I want the colors in my house to flow. I don't have any furniture for this room yet, but the painter is coming next week. Any suggestions for keeping it modern but the room not clashing with the picture? i need it to flow with my contemporary style.

This piece of art will prove to be a refreshing burst of color in your very neutral palette! I would match the matting as best as possible for the wall color.

Wonderful colors to pull from. I think a pale yellow would be awesome, but also a blue grey could be awesome too. Any of the colors in just a pale tint to let the picture shine would work. Good luck.
