How did you attached the 1" trim?

We ripped down the trim evenly on both sides to form a tight fit. Then, with the doors off, pre-drilled pilot holes through the interior of the cabinet frames at the edge into the filler strips, and attached with 2" drywall screws. Then we ran a bead of caulk between the trim and the wall.

We have the Ikea pullout wire baskets in the bottom of each wardrobe. We have our 'most often used' shoes in those and any extra are in the second bedroom closet.
