Turning a 1950s extension into a sleek contemporary space

HI we have bought a large manor house in several acres of woodland with waterfalls which is quite magical, there is a large extension which we have started the restoration of, our ideas are to turn this into a contemporay space with lots of white and some accent colour, also we are trying to incorporate natural elements like granite, marble and limestone to give it that earthy organic element.
Any ideas are most welcome as we find the kitchen particulary difficult to design from scratch. I wil add some interior photos in due course.

I think to have an addition defined by a different style compliments the original space. Clearly showing what was added on. Looks like an interesting property with a waterfall. Good luck.
