Wall decor in rented appartment
JuliaDecember 10, 2012
Hello! My family (myself, husband & the little one that we're expecting) is renting an apartment. It has all the basic things, i.e. there are wallpapers, furniture, curtains and everything we need for life. But for me there are 2 problems:
1) not much furniture in the living room / hall / kitchen combined with dining room -> which is why the walls look "empty";
2) awful color choice for the wallpapers. The hall walls are orange, kitchen walls are blue and living room walls are minty. Floors meanwhile have the dark cherry color.

I would love to make wall decoration more cosy but the trick is is we aren't allowed to drill anything. So no book shelves, photos/pictures hanging on the wall, nothing that could help. I was thinking about vinyl stickers or posters but maybe you could share some other ideas how to decorate walls with no drilling?

Thanx in advance!

I try to use the 3M Command Hooks whenever possible, No drilling, no holes and easily removed. http://www.command.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/NACommand/Command/

They really work! You can find them at Home Depot, Lowes, Target, WalMart, etc.

They have adhesive wallpaper that is used for apartments....it comes right off and you can re use it. That might be a option. Or like you mentioned wall decals...both great solutions.
