Thank you for your interest. These cabinets are natural wood, but they are a clear coated cherry wood. The cut of the wood is called plain sliced to show the cathedraling of the grain.

Hi, The window is built with glass block. The glass block is not functional as it is used for privacy. In this condition, they are used because the kitchen faces an alley. They do not open and are available through most builder supply places.
