Is this a bedroom or a TV/computer room? MOre photos would help, especially of what appears to be an alcove to the right.

You have to decide what function this room serves. If it's a bedroom/computer room, that's okay, but form follows function.

I'm not seeing any windows which tells me there's no natural light. Keep your wall color light and perhaps add some floor lamps. Center the tv on that wall, and add bookcases around it to help contain the clutter.

I would go with modular seating, on a small scale, rather than a large sofa or love seat. And, being a Mom I have to add, clean your room!!!

You need to think about storage. Get rid of that metal desk in the corner and replace it with something that gives you a work surface but also a place to put all the stuff you've got lying around. In a small space, clutter-free does more than paint color to make the space feel bigger. I don't think you have room for chairs with ottomans. Maybe a small recliner (very small) but that is it.

I forgot to mention that everything in the loft will be thrown away... It was all clutter that I left from the move. So there is not much of a need of too much storage. Also, I would like this room to double as a study/media room. I like the idea of adding in two modular seats with footrests and perhaps adding in a small coffee table in front.
