To paint or not to paint an interior structural column

Hi. We have a large cylindrical structural column in our living room that is painted white (currently). Our living room will be painted a muted grey/taupe color (best I can describe, LOL) and we are curious if we should paint the column the same colors of the wall or leave stark white? HELP!

Sounds like your paint color is greige! I would want to see the column's location and size before deciding, but to make it less obvious, paint to match the walls. If you want to call attention to it, leae it white.

I agree with decoenthusiaste's comment. Are there any trim work around the column and is it dry-walled at the moment? Pictures would definitely be helpful.
