The Gift Of A Clean Floor !!! (warning: Graphic Pictures) Parental Advisory
December 23, 2012 in Before & After
O.M.G. This is gross but I took pics to show you just how deceptive carpet can be. Maybe I should work for Bissell because this is both my favorite machine and my most hated machine. Clean carpet looks great and feels good but the amount of work needed to really clean it is enormous. For those of you who dont have maids and have to do all the cleaning yourself, and especially for those who have physical disabilities, I think you can relate to how I feel. I love a clean house as I am sure everyone else does but the most disgusting hated job ( besides the toilette) has to be cleaning the floor. I wanted to show you how vacuuming alone does not really clean deeply into the carpet and those fibers hide tons and hons of hair and dirt and germs. For those of you who suffer from allergies ( my mother and my son) its really important to use a deep steam cleaner on a regular basis. I say I love this machine because it does a great job yet I hate it too because it clogs with gunk ( the technical term) every 3 feet and I must open it up and clean the dirty water out ( not shown in the pics) and I must clean the globs of hair and dirt out. Then refill the water after dumping the dirty water. Then go back to cleaning. This one picture of gunk represents what I just cleaned from one room in my house. Granted if I vacuumed more often there would be less hair but it always seems to get out much more then you can with the vacuum alone. This is one big reason I want to rip out the rest of the carpet and put in a hard surface. I know most people want a rug of some type in the bedroom but I am hoping that it will be easier to clean in there with a rug in the center of the room and less dust along the edges and corners. So in the spirt of Christmas (lol) lets not underestimate the gift of a clean floor. For those who dont want to spend tons of money I suggest you clean someones house..kinda joking but not a bad idea. My fear is that with my increasing back pain and carpal tunnel I cant continue to do this forever. I had to move all the furniture around to get under everything and the constant lifting and bending just kills my back. But not wanting to waste money on a maid( rather spend it on other things) I choose to push myself to do this out of love and my hate of dirt. Please share your cleaning ideas and tips and what machines or tools might make life easier when it comes to cleaning your house.
