I love the lighting in the cupboards. I like having solid shelves instead of glass. Is the lighting wired in to each shelf on both sides?

Hi Pam, the wall cabinets have a faceframe. LED strip lighting was applied to both sides of the cabinet behind the faceframe. If the upper cabinets were frameless, this application would not work.

I love the way the strip lighting makes the whole glow! Thanks for your question.

You're welcome! By the way, the cabinets are by Brookhaven. And since Brookhaven's framed cabinets have full overlay doors--I used framed for the wall cabinets and frameless for the base cabinets for that extra storage.

Hi Laurie, I used Tech Lighting's under cabinet LED fixtures. They are bright, dimmable, and have a nice warm light similar to incandescent. Keep in mind that they appear exceptionally bright because of the white backsplash. Good luck with your lighting!

Hi Laurie, here's the link to the under cabinet LED: http://www.techlighting.com/Products/Fixtures/Undercabinet-Lighting/Unilume-LED-Undercabinet

In terms of light color (Kelvin), I usually use either a 2700K or 3000K. Also, I prefer "strip" for under cabinet kitchen counter lighting, since it gives the most coverage. Just be sure that the lighting is pulled toward the front of the cabinet and not the back.

Lastly, consider visiting a lighting showroom so that you can see fixtures in person. Judging under cabinet lights just from online pictures and descriptions is very difficult given the range and quality of LED lighting. Good luck Laurie!

Is the back splash painted brick? It doesn't look like it has a smooth finish like subway tile.

When using the strip lighting for under cabinet or in cabinet lighting... how do they get their power? Do you have to have outlets inside your cabinetry or is it hardwired to a switch?
