Don't the marble tiles get stained in water?
goldenfinger007January 1, 2013
I was thinking of getting almost the same marble for my shower but an architect friend told me marble tiles can only be used on dry walls because they stain easily with water, shampoo etc.

Thank you!

The walls are not marble tiles they are slab marble, and yes your architect is giving you good advise to a degree.Marble untreated is a porous product and needs to be properly treated for water absorbtion if used in wet areas and needs to be sealed on a regular basis. however the most Important aspect is to ensure that water stop angles are installed on both the walls and the floor to stop water from migrating out of the shower area. A good bathroom specialist should have the knowledge to carry out all the necessary precaution to ensure that water absorption and migration are addressed appropriately. We do intend to do a full article about this issue in the near future and post it to our website www.bubblesbathrooms.com.au so stay tuned!
