Frustrated with furniture layout of my open concept living room/dining room....
January 2, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I live in a backsplit where the front door opens up into the living room/dining room with the kitchen off to the right. The flooring is ceramic tile in the entranceway all the way back to the stairs and kitchen, while the living and dining room is hardwood. I can never figure out how to position my furniture in these rooms. I feel like it always looks like it is against the walls, and then if I do pull it out (once had the couch in the middle of the room with the back facing the dining room table and the front facing the window) it looks crowded. I'm not opposed to pulling out some of the living room furniture and replacing it or some pieces, but the dining room furniture will have to stay.
