New Build - Kitchen Options Help

Buying a house in a new development and have the design appointment coming up soon. This is a starter home and we will likely be looking to sell in another 5ish years, so we're not looking to sink a lot into kitchen upgrades.

The house is a 1500, 3 bedroom end-unit townhouse across from a large park and close to community centre and schools, so we're thinking the target market will be a younger family.

It's important for me to have a kitchen that I enjoy, but I also want to make sure the choices I make won't be extremely dated-looking in 5 years.

So, what suggestions do you have for which styles and colours to include, and which ones to avoid? Counter tops are going to be granite, and floors in the whole main area (incl. kitchen) will be hardwood.

All help is appreciated! Thank you!! :)

Stainless is still going strong. I prefer the freezer on the bottom style and see it a lot. If you have the option, reverse your sink and DW locations so you can offload from the fridge directly to the counter by the sink for prep of fruits/veggies. This floor plan looks cramped for opening doors to fridge and oven while more than one person is using the kitchen, and I don't see windows. Is that the case?

I do prefer my DW on my right but my left handed clients prefer left.
