We needed to make it functional, create space and I wanted a farmhouse kitchen feel.

Absolutely AMAZING (totally worth the ALL CAPS)!
I see so many beautiful old century homes in which owners just poop out when it comes to the kitchen. This is full-on, and I love it.

we painted the cabinets cream, built an island and a pantry, tore up the flooring and used the one hundred year old plank subfloor. Installed tin ceiling, wainscoting, a new light fixture made from an antique potrack, new sink and tap and countertops, which we made out of tile. Best deal in the room, the flooring for under a hundred bucks.

Indeed a good job! If you wish to give more of a farm house feel, you may want to get some beautiful farm house rooster coasters or trivet, hand painted with backing for use from www.artpalette.net
You can order them in 4x4 size and 8x8 for trivets!

Great job, older homes are always more difficult to reno, because trying to match can be very difficult.

Thanks everyone. It truly was a labour of love. We are restoring this house room by room. One of my fav things we did in this room is the beautiful tin celing. Here is a close up

It's called Westport Green, by Marha Stewart, but I have it mixed at Home Depot, Behr premium. I had it copied from an old colour, pastel sage, which no longer exists, but this is close. It is a beautiful colour, A nice pastel. It's fresh and light, yet warm and goes wood or white trim, and most colours. too.. I just love it. All my trim , etc, I paint in an eggshell cream to soften. I don't like crisp white as I find it too stark.
