Tiny bathroom Reno ideas needed
cjc76January 19, 2013
So we just moved into a new house (well, it's 100 years old) and planned to replace a few tiles in one of the bathrooms until we figured out what to do with the space. As we started removing the loose tiles we noticed there was some water damage around where they had built the base of the shower (the photos don't show where the glass walls/door were). Soooo, we decided to just rip the whole thing out and now we are trying to decide what to do with the space. Should we keep the layout the same? Should we move things around? We can't make the space any bigger as its on the third floor and the roof slopes so we would be looking at a major expense. We are thinking of only doing tile on the walls where the shower will be and then drywall for the rest. And we will tile the floor as well. The bathroom is approximately 5.6' x 5.8'

Life will be allot easier if you keep the same layout. How do you feel about the penny round mosaic tiles for the floor and white subway tiles for the wall? Historically accurate and you can pop a more aggressive color on the walls. This way you get the feel of a seriously new bathroom with minimal headaches.

The current layout seems to provide the best layout and would be more economical to do a cosmetic makeover. For the new shower, I would try to maximize the glass area for a more spacious feel.
