Are there any disadvantages of DG? Thank you.

I love the natural look of DG but it can be a little messy depending on where you are wanting to use it and how particular you are. While it is compacted down fairly hard, it still is a loose material that can be dusty or a little muddy when it is wet. Some of that residue can track in on your shoes if it is near the house. I usually try to use it on pathways and side areas leaving a more solid material such as concrete or stone for the heavily used patio/main walkway areas. There are also stabalizers that can be mixed into the loose material as it is being installed which will make it much harder. Hope that helps!

Thank you again. We live on Long Island, New York, which as I'm sure you know, has wild fluctuations in temperature, rain and snow. Can the stabilizers that are mixed in with the DG survive these fluctuations?
