Help! Question regarding heated bathroom floors and offset tile

I just ordered my 13x20 floor tile (porcelain) for our master bathroom remodel - and requested it be set in an offset pattern. I spoke to the subcontractor regarding this and he said 'no problem'. We ordered the quantity based on an offset. However, we are having heated floors put in. I just came across an article in Houzz that said offset is not recommended with heated floors. Can anyone elaborate on this and let me know what the challenges are? Thank you~!

I am not sure why you would not be able to offset it when used with heated floors. However, make sure to check the material install info, as many of the 13x20 sized tile has a small crown in the tile and they usually recommend you only offset it by 1/3, not halves.

Thank you! Are there any concerns with using an epoxy grout with masterheat flooring, and that large of a tile? I can handle a 1/3 offset if that is necessary~

Depends on the installer, epoxy grouts are very hard to work with, more expensive. Why would you be leaning towards epoxy grout?

it was recommended to me because of mold and maintenance issues....

I would defer to the installer and the floor heating manufacturer based on the exacting conditions of your project with respect to epoxy grout.
