Need help designing my new place
I need help designing my new place (what furniture and where to put them)!
Room:
The living/dining room is about 5 (window front) x 6 m, ceilings 3.5m. Wooden floor boards are made of oak, sorry for the dark pictures.
What I need in there:
I'd need a couch / tv area, dining area, and a little workplace (for computer, printer, etc.)
Rough Furniture ideas:
I tend to spill things, so white/cream couches are pretty much out. I was thinking of the black-brown bjursta table from Ikea and a Kivik couch in tullinge grey-brown.
Not too sure if these are a good choice & what colour my TV table, couch table, desk, and rugs should be ? I don't have to buy Ikea stuff, but for planning purposes their website seems to be pretty good.
Any ideas how I should arrange things? The living area near the windows, dining and work area closer to the kitchen?
Any input or idea is appreciated! :)

It looks like there is a natural corner (where flat boxes are stacked) for a small dining set, with a pendant lamp above.
Yes, I would keep your sitting/tv area nearer the windows--I think I'd try the sofa on the angled wall; with a wall unit on the opposite wall, for books, tv, display, etc. I would try a coffee table in front of the sofa, and 2 small armchairs angled to face the sofa....for starters.
I think a fun desk unit would fit on the wall opposite your kitchen unit.
You can add lamps, art after you get the basics set up. Oh....I forgot....first I would choose a good-sized patterned area rug in some colours you love (Ikea has some great ones); and then pick your colours for the furniture and artwork and accessories from that.
