For a rustic home in the mountains, would you prefer wide or random width floors?

I think random width will add to the authenticity of the rustic look, but it depends on whether or not you prefer uniformity.. definitely have a nice variety of wide width planks in the random pattern if you do go that way. Search on houzz for "Random width plank floors" and take a look if they have anything you like.

When you're ready for lighting, have a looksie at our lighting here on Houzz, especially our Peleg collection. Certain pendants from either of our collections will definitely look great in a rustic mountain home.

Keep in mind we're doing a complete revamp of our blown glass collection so not everything is on our site currently.

Random does look a bit more rustic. It also adds more texture and interest to the floor.

I would stay with uniformity and stick with one size..A 4" plank would be adequate based on the size of the room. Keep it simple..
