Shower near window.
January 25, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I would like to put a bath with a shower over it under this window. The problem is the affect of the water on the cedar window and possibility of water getting into the frame.

My current thoughts are to paint it all white then seal the whole thing, by putting a sheet of glass over the window (we would put in opening ceiling skylights for ventilation). Would this work? How could I finish the glass with an architrave?

Any glass in a bathroom has to be tempered. There is a sealer for teak on boats made by Sikkens, might work. Personally I would remove the lower windows and replace with glass block and leave the triagle window above.

I know it looks nice, but I just think windows in a shower is just asking for trouble. What a waterproofing nightmare.
