Applying glaze over paint

I painted my vanity Benjamin Moore dove gray and it looks great. I bought the medium brown glaze but I don't know how to apply it. I love the delicate shine and the way the glaze deepens in the cracks and crevices of this vanity. Do you have any tips for me on how to apply the glaze to achieve this look? Thanks!

This cabinet was built by a custom shop that does their own amazing finishes. I saw him apply the glaze, then wipe it off, basically and then he repeated. I hope that helps!

Thank you! That does help. I'll give it a shot. I guess I can always repaint it. Thank you for posting this picture. I redid my powder room based on your picture--the tile, the vanity and even got the little knob from anthropologie. very cute!
