Hello, I love the gray color around this fireplace. Has this fireplace front been painted? If so how do I achieve the "slate" look?

The immediate surround at the firebox is a stone tile. The hearth face and the vertical element on the right are Viroc, a composite wood-cement panel product.

Could you share who created the fireplace? We are in the DC area and looking for someone who can do this or something similar. Thank you.

This was an existing fireplace that was re-faced by the general contractor and his tile sub. The GC was Buildmax. POC is Chris at buildmax.chris@verizon.net.
