Is the Island painted? And is it a high gloss if so?

Yes, the island is painted black, and it's a factory finished paint so it's not really comparable to a store bought high-gloss, closer to a satin.

Think you, helps alot. Going to paint my kitchen island black. I wanted it to look like a factory finish as much as possible.
