How did you make the brick white surrounding the fireplace?

I have Chicago brick on a 14' wide wall extending from the floor up about 5' with a gas fireplace center in the middle. I want to change the Chicago brick to white but not a solid white (more of an antique/worn look).

The wall colour is Greenbriar Beige HC -79, the ceiling is Delware Putty CC-230 by Benjamin Moore. The carpet is from Speer's Flooring https://www.speersflooring.com, the fireplace is Erthcoverings (as above), the floor was existing but you can find similar at Vintage Flooring http://www.vintageflooring.com/ENG/hardwood-flooring-white-oak-baroque-hand-scraped/. Most interior stone can be painted. it's quite porous and you can dilute the paint and apply a thin coat to the surface. I usually recommend leaving finish requests like yours to the experts. Hope this helps. I just received these questions in September 2017!
