How to display...
I got a handful of old bottle openers from my grandfathers things and I've been trying to figure out how I wanted to display them in our dining room. Something subtle that isn't just hanging them on the wall... Any ideas welcome!

saraj11357 How about hanging them in an open picture frame, with out the glass! Cover the cardboard insert with batting and material to match your decor! Or use scrapbook paper! If you use material you could arrange them how you like then sew them to the material! Or you could get a thin piece of wood cut to the size of the frame cover it with material and screw in small cup hooks to hold them! The blue on some of them would make a nice accent color to your rooms decor! Good luck, repost after you hang them!

Manon Floreat I love the open picture frame display idea, saraj11357. I imagine it could look something like this - only with bottle openers instead of spoons.

Carolynglanville, I'm so glad your incorporating this collection into your home. It's nice bit of personal history.

Earth Matters Landscape Construction Ltd. How about glueing magnets to the back of them and displaying them on a piece of wood-framed stainless steel? they remind me of fridge magnets.

Custom Home Planning Center You could seal them in to deep place mats for the table using two part epoxy finish. Many examples of this technique can be found : http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=two+part+epoxy+table+top&qpvt=two+part+epoxy+table+top&FORM=IGRE#view=detail&id=A86AB3A4256DA861A3200A0A55FC7D36131569A9&selectedIndex=402

orangecamera Use them as drawer pulls or cabinet knobs. You could use the hand shaped one on a pull for a ceiling fan if you have one. I know you said you didn't want to just put them on the wall...but the fly just HAS to become "the fly on the wall". Put it someplace unexpected

Barnhart Gallery The swordfish in particular is so cool, if you love it, you could hang a huge swordfish sized photo of it and take all of your color cues from it. Your neutrals are the perfect starting point. Then of course, shadow box the lot as well.

panjatty I personally like KPI's photo of the corkscrews above, but if you don't want them on the wall, how about displaying them in a shadowbox tray on the dining room table? Something like this with a glass/plexiglass cover...

auburn gallery I would place them as a group above your side board but use your sideboard as a bar, displaying a tray with lovely bar paraphernalia to pull the look together and tell a story
