I am in dire need of a Benjamin Moore (I like the brand) paint colour to bring this bathroom into the 21st century. I think I would like to stay away from green. The fixtures are all an almond colour with brass fittings along with honey oak cabinets. We have no plans to change these. Any other suggestions to update the look would be greatly appreciated!
Shelton Interiors Try 1640 Dusky blue or 1641 Blue porcelain - this would look pleasing with the vanity finish. Blue is a cool color so this may not work. Changing the color alone may not bring this bathroom into the 21st century. Consider frameless shower enclosure and new fixtures. The brass gives the age away .... unfortunately. Get some lush blue towels 1643 or darker. New hardware on vanity would be great, too!
Shelton Interiors There isn't very much wall in a bathroom. If you want to make a splash, you could go with a dark orange which will then become the focal point and distract from outdated finishes such as the brass. I've had much luck with 063 Pennies from heaven or HC 51 Audubon russet. The vanity top would pop, and I would use light color towels. Hope this helps. Post a photo when you're done!
Durpetti Interiors I would agree with the pale gray/blue tones. Even removing the shower doors and adding a nice curtain would help. To really make an impact on a budget, change out the mirror for a more modern and fancy frame, if you can part with medicine cabinet. Best of luck!
nana25 Replace the shower doors with a waffle white shower curtain. Paint the walls & the trim on the floor BM White Dove. Remove the little shelf & hang one large print. Change the handles on the cabinets. Buy some fluffy white towels. Down the road you could consider painting the cabinet & the wood surrounding the mirror. Check out this blogger Censational girl she did a great job painting her bathroom cabinet.
Lucy Loo Thank you for all your suggestions! You've given me ideas that I hadn't considered. What do you think of painting the walls a darker shade of the almond fixtures and then add other lighter neutral/natural coloured accents?
Interiors International, Inc. I just used an amazing sky blue metallic from BM it is called Zepher. It is so beautiful and reflects the light around the room so much it is like having another window.
