Dear Betsywiesberg: thanks so much for your response! It is so hard to tell in the small picture, but it may look more like granite than soapstone.

I love all the Amoroso kitchens and Amoroso does such a great job with interesting tiles and counters that manage to look minimal and elegant at the same time.
