Remodeling kitchen.. Cherry floor, decorator's white cabinets. What material do you recommend for counter tops? Small kitchen, want it bright & light.

bubblyjock Are you OK with formica and its ilk? There are so many great colours, finishes and edges available now, and the prices are far more reasonable than solid surfaces such as granite, marble, etc. I'd avoid wood, because of your cherry floors (gorgeous - we had them in a previous kitchen, and I LOVED them).

ktesmer I'll look into formica, didn't like seams from years ago. Thanks much.

Curb Appeal Renovations I'd do a darker counter. And IMO stay away from laminate. That isn't what homeowners want. Granite/quartz sells.if you're on a budget, look at the "builder" colors...verde peacock, Baltic brown, Santa Cecilia, gallo ornamental. If you look at the pictures posted under my profile, black and white kitchen I believe...even the giallo ornamental would look good with your white cabs. Sorry I can't post from my iPad.
