The lighter and more pure the countertop is, the more stain it will show. Here, we have used Caesarstone, which is Quartz, therefore it does not require any maintenance (specifically periodic sealing). Although quartz is not porous, it will still retain stains from tea, red wine, and anything else that has a lot of pigment. Unlike light marbles and granites which would be nearly impossible to restore, with Quartz, you can use Vim or Comet to clean out the stains with relatively ease.

Another consideration is that metallic objects such as belt buckles leave streaks when scraped. This mark can only be cleaned with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and Vim, again with relative ease.

If maintenance is a concern but you wish to still utilize a light colour countertop, slightly varied Quartz options such as Caesarstone Misty Carrera would help hide a lot of staining until you have an opportunity to use Vim or Comet to clean the counters thoroughly.
