How is the tv anchored to the brick? I have a similar fireplace and want to do the same.

It definitely takes some work, but the end result is definitely worth it. Stores like Home Depot and Lowes sell Mason Anchor kits, which should contain pretty much everything you'll need to anchor your TV to a concrete/brick wall (that is, if these materials didn't already come with your TV).
This is a pretty decent/basic how-to on how to get the installation process rolling: http://www.doityourself.com/stry/mounting-a-plasma-tv-on-a-brick-wall-fireplace
Good luck!
