Basement ceiling
February 6, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I am debating on what type of ceiling to install in my basement. I am leaning to drywall ceiling but also considering a drop ceiling. Any thoughts on which is better? Also is there much of a price difference. Thx

Drop ceilings are less expensive and allow the sometimes necessary access to critical mechanical or electrical systems. A combination of the two (drywall where a hard ceiling is wanted and no access is necessary) could be a design help. The drywall can be painted a contrasting color from the drop ceiling and thereby become an architectural element.

Ironwood Builders is right on with the pros and cons of using a drop ceiling system. There is always the option of just spraying the ceiling black if it fits with the style of the house.
