Need a new color
February 9, 2013 in Design Dilemma
I need to replace this poo-colored bathroom. Not sure what I should go for - a solid color or restore it to a white wall? The wood cabinetry is light, the counter top is light, the floor is light. Not sure what works.

A lot of the ideas in the Photos aren't helpful because of all the natural light. There's virtually no natural light that gets to my bathroom.

I like the idea of blue as well. This particular shade looks great with the blonde vanity. You could even consider an accent wall to make up for the lack of natural light.

I just took the brown out. Couldn't settle on a colour. What do you all think?

Lawrence, your color scheme (after you removed all the brown) in this bathroom is almost identical to ours. One difference is our cabinetry is a bit darker (cherry) and I'm using brushed stainless steel for the cabinet hardware (yours is satin nickel? If so, then also very close to ours). I'm also using a very slightly off-white (slightly creamy) for the walls. We have one bathroom with natural light, and one with almost no natural light, like yours.

It's better, but it looks pink on the computer so it's hard to tell really. I think you need color in there- these are nice and soft for a room with no natural light. Add a gorgeous shower curtain and consider a new light fixture and I love the look of the mirrors mounted over the large mirror.
