Need help to choose between dark tile floor or engineered hardwood floor for my house in hollywood, fl

    That's a beautiful room! I would go with wood rather than tile. I think that tile will make the room too cold, in this case.

    Definitely timber...the temperature underfoot is so much different... Tiles can be so cold..at the moment in Australia it is really cold and I went into my utility room ...without shoes after coming off the timber floor and my feet froze... There are lots of different types of engineered flooring...make sure that you get one with a real timber layer on it...and 10ml or more if you can...This way you can sand this floor just like a regular timber floor. Make sure that they put an underlay under the flooring and ...they glue each length of timber.....so that there is minimum room for movement....hope this helps...Robyn

    What about 6"x24" wood grain tile, if you like the durability of the tile. Otherwise, I would go with wood.
