JWinteriors I work with an excellent wood floor guy. He would probably replace the "significantly" damaged area with new wood. He would then sand and stain to blend. This is, however, an excellent time to decide if you want to change up the stain color. Have you been admiring the darker stains?...etc. If he's going to sand everything, make your move. If budget is a concern, have him buff and reseal the rest of your floors to give them new life.

jessica12401 Thanks for the feedback. I will see if the wood can be replaced. I'm so torn! I want the house to have a uniform floor, but I'm worried the dark floors in the living room & bedroom will make the whole house seem to small. I also have a dark brown couch & dark wood furniture in the bedroom.
