Need help for a French oriental home..
My husband and I have recently bought a new apartment on the 3 rd floor (220 sq mts) with a terrace on the floor above (220 sq mts) in New Delhi, India.

We are looking to achieve a French-Oriental look in our home. And I need serious help with colors.

Since the tiling in the apartments is already done - playing with that is not an option. We have ceilings/ wall and wall paper to experiment.

Not looking for a French country look. We want something luxe. The plan is to accent the house with with oriental inspired stuff.

Any suggestions on how to start?!

Pls help me.

simranvirkotak The one with the windows is the drawing room . Which as u can see connects to the dining room. The dining room leads to the passage. Which has a host of doors- to the kitchen on left and powder room on right. Then three bedrooms with bathrooms

simranvirkotak This is the terrace- we have rules here where we cannot have a permanent structure on the terrace. So we have to make do with portacabins- trellis - plants etc- want to build seating alongside wall and keep a table etc. furnish upholster and decorate- Mughal-esque. Also we have to use weather durable stuff as we get extreme heat/ harsh winter no snow/ extremely dusty and dry heat.

rinqreation Look for "neoclassical", "eclectic", "french provincial", "georgian" and even "art nouveau" and see if you can blend in some oriental.
The first picture links to an article which you may find interesting.

ASVInteriors My gut instinct would lead me to research Cambodia/Vietnam interior design as a starting point and start scouring ideas within images to gather a mood board of French Oriental designs.

In the meantime some ideas that inspire me.
Let us know if this is where you want to go....
Best of luck.
