How did you do the chalkboard?

I know this question was answered recently, so you might do a search on Houzz AND if you Google something like "chalkboard refrigerator" you'll find a myriad of articles. BUT, I just want to chime in that I think this is a project for a fridge front that's in tough shape, as there's no going back once you apply this finish. And I wonder how chalkboard paint will react to greasy fingerprints? Anyone out there have experience with that?
Like any paint job, rough up the surface, prime it but good (choose a primer specifically for metal surfaces), be sure to get the surface smooth, and then paint away with chalkboard paint. Several coats. Please show us pictures if you do this! It's a popular idea!

Makes more sense to buy the add wood panel hardware and add a chalk board panel instead. If it doesn't work out you can add another surface that does.

Good idea. Still wondering about chalkboard and greasy fingers though. Not sure they're a great combination.

I am sure it can be cleaned with Windex or de-greaser!
