The First 100 Year Old Energy Star Home: Before and After

This (as far as Energy Star could tell us) is the first 100 year old Energy Star Home in America! It is located in Bozeman, MT. It was built in the early 1900's in the middle of the town and was moved to a new location and put on a foundation in the 1970's. College students lived there for a few years and we finally decided to move into it. But not without some upgrades! The walls had NO insulation, the shower was under the stairs so you had to duck under the stairs to take a shower, and let's just say, it wasn't quite up to todays code. We turned it into a piece of art by retaining the Victorian theme and even kept the original hard wood floors! Take a look and let us know if you have questions! I just wish I could fit more pics on this discussion board!

Thanks for saving the place. We 100-year-old (and older) home owners need all the company we can get.

OMG - that teal-and-brown bathroom in your third photo, with the original exposed plumbing, plenty of soft creamy-white accents with just a subtle slight vertical pop of black: it is just SO retro, especially with the gold linoleum - gorgeous! ;)
