Are red and gold colors outdated
We are thinking about painting our bedroom a light vanilla color, which we will be painting the rest of the house in probably that color or shade darker. I found a comforter from Austin Horn website that has red and golds in it, that I like. Probably order a pillow just to be sure though. I just didn't know if these colors are outdated that are in the comforter. Would like to have a really light color comforter, but fiance doesn't like that idea, Have had great suggestions from this website, and now we are 2 weeks from starting to redo the house, closing on it next week-yeah! The furniture is not ours in the first picture.
This is the master bedrm and will have to tie in the master bath if we decide to go with that comforter. Thanks for any ideas.

decoenthusiaste We'd really need to see your furniture to be of much assistance. Can you photo and add to this post?

lexiek Here is a picture of our bedroom furniture, this was my fiance's, so now it is what we will be using.

cypress I think your bedroom furniture warrants a more casual style bedding, the red and gold comforter set in the photo looks very formal and opulent to me. I would paint both the master and master bath in the same shades of paint colors.

lexiek I am beginning to think the same, been looking at pictures. I think it would look nice with a 4 poster bed. Do you think more neutral? The colors in the living room curtains have those colors in it, kinda why I liked it.Any suggestions on comforter sites or what color you would suggest? Thank you

cypress Hi lexiek, you don't have to go neutral with your existing bed, try Pottery Barn for some nice looking bedding in neutrals and colors, patterns and plain. You can use reds, just the one you had posted looked too formal. A 4 poster bed would update your existing furniture.
