It is weeping mortar which is done when they lay the bricks. They apply extra mortar and let it "squish" out and instead of raking it clean, they let it harden. The color is Sherwin Williams Shell White.

Beautifyul.....very interesting look. Are there "negatives" to this type of finish? Costly to do? Hard to paint? maintain? I would think selecting a brick that is as light in color would be best if your truing to get a creamy, light color....which is what we're interested in.....Looking to gain edification before chosing. Thank you
