Need ideas
This is a joining living room and dining room. I was thinking of changing the floor, but I do not want too much wood as we have the wainscoting, the file cabinet, desk and a table we are putting in made of old wood from another part of the house. Thoughts? Thank you.

Barnhart Gallery Well, dear tsh, the bones of your rooms are very handsome indeed, and I understand not wanting to drown in a sea of woods. However, my first thought is to install a light wood hard flooring with a dark accent strip close to the walls:

This will still allow you to put a solid area rug under your seating area if you so choose, to break up the woods.
