Does anyone know anything about bamboo floors for a kitchen. What about vinyl wood floors. What would be better and most long lasting.

Have you considered cork? It is quiet and easy on the legs when standing.

Bamboo is eco-friendly, durable, and fairly moisture resistant. I would prefer it over vinyl.

I have been selling a great deal of Bamboo for kitchens and whole house for that matter. Very durable and looks great.

I have strand woven bamboo floors in my kitchen and throughout the house. So far so good! Finish has withstood my toddlers, water spills and visiting pooches. Make sure, if you do get bamboo, you get strand woven. "Strand Woven" bamboo is a much more durable than "horizontal" or "vertical" bamboo. The horiz/vert are actually very soft, but the strand woven is harder than Oak.

I got my strand woven bamboo floors at builddirect.com out of Canada. Was cheaper than Lumber Liquidators!
