Sue Harris I just put one in several months ago and I love it! It's a fun little twist to a very traditional home. I don't think they are a fad, especially if you like it!

creeser I think you could get away with a gold vessel sink (and no, I don't think they're a fad). I would use an oil rubbed bronze faucet though and not a brass one. Keep the metal finishes all in ORB.

Dytecture Sounds fine since this is just a powder room. Would not suggest such 'bold' move in the main baths.
