oops, hit enter in error. I have no idea what color to paint walls or what backsplash to choose. There's a cherry kitchen table, too. The kitchen runs into the family room and I've attached a pic of the carpet that I bought, but am reconsidering. The furniture in the family room is a gold sectional and a brown leather chair w/ottoman. The countertops are Cambria Praa Sands.

here's the praa sands. I really have no design skills or confidence in my ability to choose. Thanks so much. Donna

Here is an example of a blue-gray wall which picks up on the color of the granite.

Thanks, I'm loving the blue, but the rest of the house is red, green and gold and can't figure out how to make it work.

White subway tiles for the back splash to make it classic and should you decide to change the color scheme later on it will work. Accessorize with the colors in small appliances and cannisters if you decide to use them to tie them together.
You could bring the Taupe color in the Praa Sands for the walls. That way it still ties in with the rest of the house. Probably tie in with the gold sectional a little more probably.

I hope this helps.
Although blue looks great it won't work with the green, red and gold.

Thanks - it does help. Taupe is sort of that grayish brown color? I really am color/design challenged.

I just wanted to say I love the counter tops you chose. Gorgeous! After agonizing over my own for weeks, I know how hard it is to commit lol!

Modern Age, I will look at your site - thanks.

Erin, thank you. You are right - difficult to commit, especially without an eye for color, design, etc. Tried to work with a decorator at the beginning, but she dumped me for another project. Would have preferred professional input. Have a few friends with great sense of color, but can't bug them every step of the way.
