How is the fire ignited

Thanks for asking... there's a standard gas valve outside the left of the photo in a cut-out similar to the one you see on the right side of the fireplace, near the black steel post. We use this valve to turn the gas on and off as well as regulate the flame height. A match or log lighter kick starts the fireplace for marshmallows / s'mores! ~ Jeff Jeannette, Jeannette Architects
