Please tell me what base boards are used and the height of the them. Also the casing around the doors.

probably about 4" high and 1/2" thick? Your carpenter buys flat board and has to rip it to the specified size - same with doors. This is my best guess from seeing the picture.

This look appeals to me also because of the light at the end of the tunnel (hall)...would it be as effective if the hall deadended into a wall and there was minimal light value...we are buying home w/8 ft ceilings that has bedroom hall and no natural light coming in...don't know that we can add extra cans or sidelights to enhance lighting either...

Mr. Simmons could you please tell me where the baseboards were purchased if they were stock.. thank you so much.. doing a whole house reno and if these are inexpensive than they would be perfect!
